Paving Locations and Impacts

[updated!] Paving operations are currently underway in the Coffey Park neighborhood. Specific dates and streets impacted are listed below.

The work on these streets will consist of grinding and removing approximately 2-3 inches of the roadway, and replacing it with new asphalt. The full length of the street will be paved unless otherwise noted. Schedule is subject to change due to weather or unforeseen circumstances.

Scheduled for Wednesday, May 1 to Thursday, May 9:

  • Hemlock Ct
  • Tuliptree Rd
  • Hemlock St
  • Sweetgum Ct
  • Sweetgum St
  • Pinyon St
  • Cashew Rd
  • Hillary Ct
  • Keoke Ct
  • Kona Pl
  • Dennis Ln
  • Mocha Ln (Dennis to Hopper)
  • Expresso Ct
  • Hennessy Pl
  • Brandee Ln (Mocha to Crimson)

Please note that these streets are not listed in the sequence that they will be paved, as some flexibility in the schedule is required due to day-to-day changes that impact operations.

Please note:

  • While this work is underway there will be no parking signs posted along the street. No parking hours are from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
  • All driveways will have access at the end of each workday.
  • This work will require some lane and street closures, and possible detours.
  • Emergency vehicle access and/or resident evacuation in event of emergency will always be accommodated.
  • If you will need to use your vehicle on your street’s paving days, please park on an adjacent street.
  • There will be some periods of up to several hours where access will not be possible into or out of driveways where paving is taking place, when the surface has not cooled and hardened.
  • If you have special/urgent circumstances requiring getting your vehicle in or out of your driveway while the work is taking place, please make contact with one of the on-site inspectors and they will assist you with access.
  • Work hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm (lane/road closures will be in place from 8:30 am – 4:00 pm).
  • Trash/recycling collection will be accommodated via coordination with the collection service.

When traveling on or near the streets being paved, please use extra caution and watch for construction crews, equipment, flaggers, and special construction/traffic signage.

Community Meeting Held on April 18

Over 40 people attended the community information meeting on April 18 to learn about the pavement operations for the Neighborhood Road Recovery Project. The meeting included information about the project schedule and phases, types of work, what neighbors can expect during the work, and plans for access in the event of fire or other emergency.

A PDF of the slide presentation is available here, and a recording of the presentation if available here.

This meeting focused on Coffey Park, as work is beginning in this area. A basic overview was provided for the Fountaingrove area, however a meeting specifically for that neighborhood is being planned for late 2024/early 2025, just prior to the start of that repaving work.

Project Overview

The project will resurface 33-miles of residential City streets damaged following the 2017 Tubbs Fire. Two pavement treatment options will be applied to resurface the pavement on this project. One pavement treatment option will involve a mill-and-fill asphalt replacement and the other involves dig-out repairs and application of a latex-modified, high-volume traffic slurry seal treatment. The type of treatment applied to a street depends on the pavement condition of the roadway. The project will also include the installation of over 100 ADA-compliant pedestrian curb ramps.

Construction Notes

As with all large construction projects, there will be unavoidable disruptions to nearby neighbors and to motorists traveling in the area – we apologize in advance for noise, dust, lane closures, traffic delays, and any other impacts or inconveniences. When driving, walking, or biking in the area, always be aware of construction crews and equipment, flaggers, special signage, slower traffic, and rough roadways. Use an alternate route if possible, and allow for additional time to get to and from your destination.
