Paving Repairs Starting in Fountaingrove

[new!] The initial phase of paving restoration operations is scheduled to begin in Fountaingrove on Monday, May 20, and last for approximately two weeks, weather permitting. The work being performed will consist of removing and replacing damaged sections of the road surface. ‘No Parking’ signs may be posted on streets where crews are scheduled to operate. Work hours, including ‘No Parking’ hours, are from 8:00 a.m to 5:00 p.m., Monday – Friday.  The contractor will return at a later date to apply a slurry seal to the entire road surface.

There are no full road closures expected while this work is underway. At a minimum, one lane of traffic will remain open at all times. Traffic control personnel will be on-site to safely direct cars through the work zone when traffic control measures are in place. Drivers should anticipate potential delays and allow for extra time when traveling through the area. Emergency vehicles will have access through the neighborhood at all times, as well as trash and mail services.

For details on which streets will be impacted and when please refer to the project website at www.NeighborhoodRoadRecovery.com. If you have questions regarding the upcoming work please call the project information line at (707) 385-1239.

[updated!] Paving operations are currently underway in the Coffey Park neighborhood. Specific dates and streets impacted are listed below.

The work on these streets will consist of grinding and removing approximately 2-3 inches of the roadway, and replacing it with new asphalt. The full length of the street will be paved unless otherwise noted. Schedule is subject to change due to weather or unforeseen circumstances.

Scheduled for Wednesday, May 15 to Friday, May 17:

  • Brandee Ln
  • Mocha Ln (Dennis Ln to Hopper Ave)
  • Hennessy Pl
  • Kerry Ln (Brandee Ln to Hopper Ave)

Paving operations are expected to resume in Coffey Park in the beginning of June. A more detailed schedule and location of work will be provided in subsequent updates.

These streets are not listed in the sequence that they will be paved. Some day-to-day flexibility is required to accommodate unforeseen circumstances. If you have questions on when a specific street will be paved please call the project information line at (707) 385-1239.

Please note:

  • While this work is underway there will be ‘No Parking’ signs posted along the street.
  • Work hours are from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, including ‘No Parking’ hours.
  • All driveways will have access at the end of each workday.
  • This work will require some lane and street closures, and possible detours.
  • Emergency vehicle access and/or resident evacuation in event of emergency will always be accommodated.
  • If you will need to use your vehicle on your street’s paving days, please park on an adjacent street.
  • There will be some periods of up to several hours where access will not be possible into or out of driveways where paving is taking place, when the surface has not cooled and hardened.
  • If you have special/urgent circumstances requiring getting your vehicle in or out of your driveway while the work is taking place, please make contact with one of the on-site inspectors and they will assist you with access.
  • Trash/recycling collection will be accommodated via coordination with the collection service.
  • Mail and package deliveries have not been impacted by construction activities. When needed, delivery vehicles are parked away from the construction zone and mail/packages are delivered on foot.

When traveling on or near the streets being paved, please use extra caution and watch for construction crews, equipment, flaggers, and special construction/traffic signage.

Project Overview

The project will resurface 33-miles of residential City streets damaged following the 2017 Tubbs Fire. Two pavement treatment options will be applied to resurface the pavement on this project. One pavement treatment option will involve a mill-and-fill asphalt replacement and the other involves dig-out repairs and application of a latex-modified, high-volume traffic slurry seal treatment. The type of treatment applied to a street depends on the pavement condition of the roadway. The project will also include the installation of over 100 ADA-compliant pedestrian curb ramps.

Construction Notes

As with all large construction projects, there will be unavoidable disruptions to nearby neighbors and to motorists traveling in the area – we apologize in advance for noise, dust, lane closures, traffic delays, and any other impacts or inconveniences. When driving, walking, or biking in the area, always be aware of construction crews and equipment, flaggers, special signage, slower traffic, and rough roadways. Use an alternate route if possible, and allow for additional time to get to and from your destination.
