Roadway Striping, Followed by Punch List
[updated!] With the Fountaingrove area slurry seal resurfacing work concluded, crews have moved forward with initial roadway striping, to be followed by punch list items (small repairs and clean-up) after all contract items are completed.The first step for roadway striping is applying the preliminary pavement markings as a guide for where the permanent lane lines or markings will later be placed. That initial measuring and layout work is complete and awaiting City inspection and approval, which is expected by next week. The permanent striping work will be scheduled after approval of the line/marking layouts. Most of the striping will be performed by the contractor, and the City will subsequently follow up to complete that work.
Following completion of the roadway striping, a final walk-through inspection will take place and the small repairs and clean up punch list items will be identified. Punch list items will be addressed in both the Coffey Park and Fountaingrove areas.
As a reminder, the aggregate surface of the newly slurry-sealed streets will become smoother as it is driven on (unlike streets that received a new layer of asphalt). Streets with higher traffic volumes are seeing this result sooner. For those streets with less traffic, it will take additional time. Thank you for your continued patience
Construction Reminders
There will be minimal impacts to residents and motorists during this final phase of striping and punch list work. Please continue to watch for trucks, equipment, and work crews on and around the areas of work.

Project Overview
The project resurfaced 33 miles of residential City streets damaged following the 2017 Tubbs Fire. Two pavement treatment options were applied to resurface the pavement on this project. One pavement treatment option involved a mill-and-fill asphalt replacement, and the other involved dig-out repairs and application of a latex-modified, high-volume traffic slurry seal treatment. The type of treatment applied to a street depended on the pavement condition of the roadway. The project also included the installation of approximately 330 ADA-compliant pedestrian curb ramps.
Construction Notes
As with all large construction projects, there are unavoidable disruptions to nearby neighbors and to motorists traveling in the area – noise, dust, lane closures, and traffic delays for example. When driving, walking, or biking in the area, always be aware of construction crews and equipment, flaggers, special signage, slower traffic, and rough roadways. Use an alternate route if possible, and allow for additional time to get to and from your destination.
