Fountaingrove Slurry Seal Activity Completed
[updated!] Slurry seal resurfacing work in the Fountaingrove area has been completed.Targeted street sweeping will continue for the next few days. Crews are engaged in the initial measuring and layout work for roadway striping, with the actual striping anticipated to get underway soon. The contractor is implementing most of the striping, and the City will subsequently follow up to complete that work. Crews will also be working on Coffey Park and Fountaingrove “punch list” items, which include small repairs and clean-up.
As a reminder, the aggregate surface of the newly slurry-sealed streets will become smoother as it is driven on (unlike streets that received a new layer of asphalt). Streets with higher traffic volumes are seeing this result sooner. For those streets with less traffic, it will take additional time. Thank you for your continued patience.
Construction Reminders
There will be minimal impacts to residents and motorists during this final phase of striping and punch list work. Please continue to watch for trucks, equipment, and work crews on and around the areas of work.

Project Overview
The project resurfaced 33 miles of residential City streets damaged following the 2017 Tubbs Fire. Two pavement treatment options were applied to resurface the pavement on this project. One pavement treatment option involved a mill-and-fill asphalt replacement, and the other involved dig-out repairs and application of a latex-modified, high-volume traffic slurry seal treatment. The type of treatment applied to a street depended on the pavement condition of the roadway. The project also included the installation of approximately 330 ADA-compliant pedestrian curb ramps.
Construction Notes
As with all large construction projects, there are unavoidable disruptions to nearby neighbors and to motorists traveling in the area – noise, dust, lane closures, and traffic delays for example. When driving, walking, or biking in the area, always be aware of construction crews and equipment, flaggers, special signage, slower traffic, and rough roadways. Use an alternate route if possible, and allow for additional time to get to and from your destination.
