Fountaingrove Paving Operations Scheduled to Start September 23
[updated!] Paving operations in the Fountaingrove area are anticipated to get underway during the week of September 23, and continue on various streets into early November. The contractor is currently on-site lowering sewer and water covers in preparation for the paving operations.This significant work will generally consist of grinding down specified roadways and then installing a new layer of asphalt. Typical working hours will be Monday – Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., although lane closures will not begin until 8:00 a.m. Some lane closures may extend beyond 5:00 p.m., depending on the weather and the speed at which the asphalt cools. Fountaingrove Community Meeting Held August 21
Over 75 people attended the online community information meeting on August 21 to learn about the pavement operations for the Neighborhood Road Recovery Project. The meeting focused on the Fountaingrove neighborhood and included information about the project schedule and phases, types of work, what neighbors can expect during the work, and plans for access in the event of fire or other emergency. Fountaingrove Curb/Ramp Replacement Continues
Construction crews are continuing to remove existing pedestrian curb ramps and replace them with new, ADA-compliant ramps, throughout the Fountaingrove neighborhood. This work is expected to continue for the next several weeks.
While this work is underway there may be times when ‘No Parking’ signs are posted adjacent to the curb ramps being replaced; however, only a few spots will be affected at a time. Additionally, sidewalks will be closed in the area of work and pedestrians will be redirected to the other side of the street for safety.
Coffey Park Paving Complete
[updated!] Paving and striping operations are now complete in the Coffey Park neighborhood. The contractor will continue working on minor punch list items and clean up over the next few weeks. Weather permitting, the contractor will be back onsite in the Coffey Park neighborhood July 2025 to apply a slurry seal to streets identified to receive that treatment.Construction Photos
Project Overview
The project will resurface 33-miles of residential City streets damaged following the 2017 Tubbs Fire. Two pavement treatment options will be applied to resurface the pavement on this project. One pavement treatment option will involve a mill-and-fill asphalt replacement and the other involves dig-out repairs and application of a latex-modified, high-volume traffic slurry seal treatment. The type of treatment applied to a street depends on the pavement condition of the roadway. The project will also include the installation of approximately 330 ADA-compliant pedestrian curb ramps.
Construction Notes
As with all large construction projects, there will be unavoidable disruptions to nearby neighbors and to motorists traveling in the area – we apologize in advance for noise, dust, lane closures, traffic delays, and any other impacts or inconveniences. When driving, walking, or biking in the area, always be aware of construction crews and equipment, flaggers, special signage, slower traffic, and rough roadways. Use an alternate route if possible, and allow for additional time to get to and from your destination.
