Coffey Park Paving Locations and Impacts

[updated!] Paving operations are scheduled to resume in the Coffey Park neighborhood the week of June 24. Homes located on the streets scheduled to be paved will receive notices next week informing them of the upcoming work.

Please Note:

  • While this work is underway there will be ‘No Parking’ signs posted along the street.
  • Work hours, including ‘No Parking’ hours, are from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm., Monday through Friday.
  • All driveways will have access at the end of each workday.
  • Emergency vehicle access and/or resident evacuation in event of emergency will always be accommodated.
  • If you will need to use your vehicle on your street’s paving days, please park on an adjacent street.
  • There will be some periods of up to several hours where vehicle access will not be possible into or out of homes where road repair work is taking place directly in front of the driveway.
  • If you have special/urgent circumstances requiring getting your vehicle in or out of your driveway while the work is taking place, please make contact with one of the on-site inspectors and they will assist you with access.
  • Trash/recycling collection will be accommodated via coordination with the collection service.
  • Mail and package deliveries should not be impacted by construction activities. When needed, delivery vehicles are parked away from the construction zone and mail/packages are delivered on foot.

When traveling on or near the streets being paved, please use extra caution and watch for construction crews, equipment, flaggers, and special construction/traffic signage.

Fountaingrove Road Repairs

[updated!] The initial phase of paving restoration in Fountaingrove is complete. The contractor will be returning at a later date to the streets where repairs occurred to apply a slurry seal to the entire road surface. This will protect the road and ensure a uniform look. Notices will be provided to residents prior to work resuming in the Fountaingrove area.

Crews will be on-site June 17 and 18 in Fountaingrove to raise the manhole frames and covers on the recently repaired roads so that they are level with the new road surface. Impacts to the public from these operations will be minimal.

Project Overview

The project will resurface 33-miles of residential City streets damaged following the 2017 Tubbs Fire. Two pavement treatment options will be applied to resurface the pavement on this project. One pavement treatment option will involve a mill-and-fill asphalt replacement and the other involves dig-out repairs and application of a latex-modified, high-volume traffic slurry seal treatment. The type of treatment applied to a street depends on the pavement condition of the roadway. The project will also include the installation of over 100 ADA-compliant pedestrian curb ramps.

Construction Notes

As with all large construction projects, there will be unavoidable disruptions to nearby neighbors and to motorists traveling in the area – we apologize in advance for noise, dust, lane closures, traffic delays, and any other impacts or inconveniences. When driving, walking, or biking in the area, always be aware of construction crews and equipment, flaggers, special signage, slower traffic, and rough roadways. Use an alternate route if possible, and allow for additional time to get to and from your destination.
